The many sides of Crystal
Born and raised in New York and rooted in her Ghanaian heritage, Crystal built businesses, crossed oceans to study, and spent her life lifting other people up.
A daughter, a sister, a founder, a woman of faith, and everyone's biggest cheerleader. Crystal was a light to all who knew her, and that light keeps going.

“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.”

The burial will be private, for family.
The family is raising funds for Crystal's funeral and burial. Anything left over goes to The Promise Foundation, the charity she built for orphaned and vulnerable children in Ghana.
Crystal's light started at home. We hold her mother, her sister, her father and the whole Afriyie family close in prayer.
Crystal founded The Promise Foundation to uplift vulnerable communities in Ghana. Each year the foundation adopts one orphanage or charity and supports it with educational materials, healthcare, financial aid and food. It also runs creative programs for children's social and emotional well-being.
She did the hard parts herself: registering the NGO in Ghana, securing its trademark, and getting every certification in order. Her service started in high school with a 100-hour volunteer requirement that turned into a lifelong calling.
With the Awisi Foundation, The Promise is outfitting underprivileged primary school children with new uniforms. $15 sponsors one child. Slide to see what your gift does.
